There are two kinds of TOEIC test; the normal TOEIC and the TOEIC Bridge, which is for lower levels.

ABOUT THE TOEIC

  • The TOEIC® test is the most widely used English language test for professional English.
  • The TOEIC® test is used as a certification tool in more than 5000 companies worldwide.
  • Use the TOEIC® test to certify your English skills and enhance your employment profile.
  • The test lasts 2 hours and consists of a reading section and a listening section
  • The test takes place at A2Z School of English
  • The TOEIC test was created and is administered by the American company ETS

  • You receive your test result about 4 days after you take the test
  • Your certificate is valid for 2 years
  • The maximum score is 990

TOEIC BRIDGE

  • The TOEIC Bridge is a lower level of the TOEIC exam.
  • It is perfect for students who want to show that their English has improved from basic to intermediate level.
  • Students who want to change from a Student Visitor Visa to a General Student Visa may be able to show that their English is good enough to return to the UK on a General Student Visa
  • The test takes about one hour
  • There are two sections, listening (about 25 minutes) and reading (about 35 minutes).

DATES

All A2Z tests start at 9am

Scheduled TOEIC tests (either normal or bridge) take two and half hours and finish at 11.30am. TOEIC bridge tests take one and a half hours and finish at 10.30am.

All TOEIC tests usually take place on the last Saturday of the month.

Private tests can happen at any time arranged beforehand.

Usually, you will receive an emailed result 1 or 2 days after your test, and a posted result 1 - 2 weeks later. Please note that this cannot be guaranteed, as we depend on the UK postal service.

FEES

Both the TOEIC and TOEIC bridge tests cost £100. All test takers receive a test report. 
If you want a Certificate you must pay £15 more.

A private test (in either format) can be arranged fo £150 at any time the student wishes. Again, if you want a certificate you must pay extra, a total of £165.

You must pay for the test before you take it. You must register and pay for the exam at least one week before. You can pay in any of the normal ways.

 

Speaking and Writing TOEIC

 

The TOEIC test at A2Z is only the reading and listening components. If you would like to take the Speaking and Writing parts of the test you must do this in London at the ETS centre. You can find more information here; http://www.uk.toeic.eu/index.php?id=7939

HOW TO REGISTER

To register for the TOEIC course simply complete our online application form (Select TOEIC test only) or send an email to toeic@a2z-english.com with the following information. You must register for the test at least 1 week before the test date.

 TOEIC Tips

  • On the test day arrive early and bring a pencil, eraser and pencil sharpener. It is also a good idea to bring a bottle of water and a watch.
  • Bring ID on the day of your test. Your ID should be your passport or other official ID that meets the TOEIC requirements, usually with a picture and a signature.
  • Bring a real wooden pencil. You cannot take the test with a mechanical pencil or a pen, this is against the rules.
  • Don't worry about the first 30 minutes, this is not part of the test and is just for completing your name and other details. Try to use this time to relax and focus.
  • Take our A2Z special one day 4 hour preparation course especially designed for the tests. This is a quick and easy way to get ready. It is taught by a teacher with an MBA!
  • Go to the toilet before the exam so that you will not need to go during the exam. This could cause big problems.
  • Make sure you leave enough time for the second part of the test.(reading) as most people loose their marks in this section by spending too long on the first two parts and not enough time on the third part, which is the most difficult.
  • Split your time for the reading section into three unequal parts of time. Because the third part is the most difficult you should not use equal amounts of time on each part of the reading, but should spend half the time on the third section and about a quarter of the time on the first two parts. This way you will probably have some extra time to check your answers.
  • Although you are  not supposed to write on the test booklet you can use it as scrap paper without loosing any marks. This is important because in the real exam you will not have any extra paper to write on, and in the listening section you might need to remember something quickly and go back to it later.
  • In the last 5 minutes of the exam spend your time completing any questions you have not answered with a random answer. This is because an empty mark will not win you any points, but if you complete the answer with a random mark you have a one in four chance of getting the right answer. One if four chance is better than nothing!
